The car was inspired by the successful rally cars Porsche campaigned in 1984,85,86 in the Paris- Dakar rally beginning with the normally aspirated SCRS 3.2l following with the twin turbo 959. I built the car since I had not seen anyone here do a ‘rally’ 911 that was lifted in the air as opposed to dropped to the ground as many 911’s are. It was on display at the San Diego Targa Trophy in June of this year and is making the trip up to Monterey in August for the Historics where Porsche will be the featured marquee. It will be in the Porsche Corral at Laguna Seca and will be dropping by the Pebble Beach Concours(obviously not as an entrant) and the Quail. There will be more of these special cars built by Shawn at Alpine Division. |
